Menu plan week of February 15th

Alright, so the cooking swap group is back in business!  For those who didn’t read my original description of this great little club, here’s another recap:

A group of 5 wives from church (all with similar standards for ingredients and meals), get together and choose 2 meals each to make.  We make enough for all 5 of our families, divide it into freezer bags and freeze it.  Then we get together to swap the meals.  It saves money and condenses our prep time down into one or two chunks of time instead of 10 different chunks of time for each of the 10 meals we end up getting.

We’re all working on our meals this week and meeting to swap food on Thursday.  Praise God!  This group has been a great blessing to me in this busy, tired season.

So, I’m going to be working my group dishes into my own menu plan for this week.  I’ll have my meals this week on or before Thursday and then enjoy the other ladies’ efforts for the rest of the week and next week too.  🙂

Typical Breakfasts:

Typical Lunches:

  • Loaded Salad
  • Turkey Sandwiches, Carrot and Celery Sticks
  • Leftovers

Typical Snacks (Definitely important with this never-ending appetite of mine):

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Smoothies
  • Baked potatoes

And here is the dinner plan:

Menu plan week of January 25th

I’m finally feeling together enough to put a menu plan together for the week! Praise God!

One of the things that has helped me get to this point of on-top-of-it-ness was a great cooking club swap that five wives from church did.  We all made two recipes, but made enough for all five of our families.  Then we got together and swapped all the food.  We ended up with 10 meals each.

I can’t express what a relief it was to put those meals in the freezer, especially in this particularly culinarily-uninspired season I have been in.  Fortunately for me, I have 4 of these meals left to use this week.  Then hopefully the cooking club will re-convene for another swap. 🙂
